Travel Medicine
There are some new challenges involved in world-wide travel and we’d like to help.  If you have plans for travel, please contact our office and we’ll try to help with planning.
The first consideration is the medications you are currently taking.  If you will be out of the area for more than a few months, we can often make arrangements for getting your prescriptions to you.
Secondly, there are considerations for preventative therapy prior to travel.  We consult the CDC Travel web site, which has country-specific recommendations for immunizations and prophylactic medications.
Finally, we’ll consider medications you might need while you are travelling.  We can usually help with medication for nausea, diarrhea, infections, motion sickness, and even flight-anxiety.  One recommendation noted at the CDC site is to take pepto-bismol tablets with each meal.  It seems to decrease the ability of bacteria to bind to the bowel.
